Istvan Kostura “Urban zen garden”.
The project presents the drawings made with the ball pen, self-created rulers and magnet system and also artist’s photos.
The cityscape’s architecture and structures, with their peculiar aesthetics and stunning simplicity, are what catch artist’s eye. He perceives a secret spirituality in them — a space for reflection and separation from worldly conceit. They act as a «rock garden» for artists’s subjective experiences, which he then uses to create his own picture of the world. These compositions appear chaotic at first inspection, yet they actually adhere to a set of rules and involve routine mechanical operations. Instead of intentionally created structures, Istvan uses his subjective experiences in this project since he is more interested in automatic behaviors, haphazard routine and emergence process.
